I was commissioned by De Espona Infografica SL to model the Eiffel Tower of Paris in 3D for the movie The True Legend of the Eiffel Tower (2005), directed by Simon Brook.
Over a short timeline of two months, as I was required to model three versions, up to full detail version including rivets on the main components. I was sent photocopies of the blueprints for the Eiffel Tower as well as a book of photographs, and combined with copious amounts of Google image searching, was able to model what was for a long time probably the most detailed 3D model of the Eiffel Tower anywhere.
The original tower was modelled as it was for the World Fair of 1889 and can be seen at various stages of construction in the movie. Later on I made a modified version with the modern canopy on the first level for my personal portfolio.
